About the hackathon

What is CircuitAvishkar?

A two-day flagship hackathon celebrating innovation in circuit design, embedded systems and electronics, held on 27 and 28 February 2026 at REVA University, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

CircuitAvishkar is organised by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS), Bangalore Chapter, with leading academic and industry partners. The 2026 edition set out to be bigger, better and more impactful — sharper problem statements, deeper industry involvement, and more internship and apprenticeship opportunities for top-performing teams.

An 11-month apprenticeship at Infineon

The apprenticeship

Runs for 11 months, from 1 July 2026 to the end of June 2027. Selected students work on live projects in R&D and other departments — Automotive, Post-Silicon Validation, Connected Secure Systems, Power & Sensor Systems, Design Enabling Services and IT.

Eligibility criteria

M.Tech (batch 2027) — completed the 2nd semester, with 70% aggregate in X, XII/Diploma and B.Tech/BE.

B.Tech/BE (batch 2027) — completed or attending the 6th semester, with 70% aggregate in X and XII.

Eligible disciplines: Computer Science, AI-ML, EEE, ECE, Information Technology, Instrumentation & Control, Embedded Systems, VLSI and Power Electronics.

Frequently asked questions

What is the eligibility criteria?

Pre-final year students (B.Tech/M.Tech) from ECE, EEE, CSE, AI-ML or related branches, graduating in 2027, with no backlogs.

Is this a paid internship? Do I need to pay the company anything?

No. The internship is offered by the company without any payment from students.

Will there be a stipend during the internship?

Yes. Selected candidates receive a stipend/salary from Infineon.

Is individual registration allowed?

No, only team registrations are allowed. Form a team of up to four members before registering; the team lead registers and adds the names of the other participants.

What is the team size?

A maximum of 4 and a minimum of 2 members. If your team is smaller than four, mark “n/a” for the unused member entries in the registration form. Teams are open to merging with others of a similar size.

Can the team have members from different institutions?

Yes. Each member must provide an individual approval letter for the apprenticeship from their own college.

What if a team member already has an apprenticeship offer?

Students who already hold an apprenticeship offer cannot participate. Please exclude them before forming your team.

Will travel allowance be provided?

Yes. Up to ₹3,000 per student for those travelling more than 1,000 km, and up to ₹1,500 per student for those travelling within 1,000 km. The allowance is a reimbursement on actuals, paid to your bank account after the event on producing bus/train tickets or boarding passes. Local travel within Bengaluru is not reimbursed.

Is accommodation provided for the overnight event?

Yes, free accommodation is provided on 27 February only. If you need an extension, inform us in advance at ieee.cas.bangalore@gmail.com. Separate accommodation is arranged for women participants. Please bring your own blanket and pillow.

How do I reach the venue from the railway station or airport?

Participants arrange their own transport; there is no pick-up or drop-off service.

Will food be provided on campus?

Yes, free food is provided on both event days (27–28 February). You can also buy food at the campus canteen.

Is the registration fee per head or per team?

The fee is per team, and there is no discount for teams with fewer than four members.

Are there any preselections?

No preselection beyond the eligibility criteria. The first 200 registrations are auto-confirmed.

How do I prepare for the hackathon?

Review the basics of circuit design and embedded systems, and the skills listed for your chosen track.

How many offers will be given?

The number of offers depends on participants’ performance and company policy.

What if a team member drops out?

The team can continue as long as at least two members remain. If only one member wishes to continue, email us — where possible we will merge you with another team. No refunds are issued to teams that drop out.

My college only allows a 5- or 6-month internship. Can I still participate?

No. The apprenticeship runs for 11 months.

Why do we need to submit the approval letter?

The approval letter is mandatory for every participant. It confirms that your institution permits an 11-month internship and that you hold no other internship offer.
